After almost 20 years of being fairly inactive, I finally had enough of my random aches and pains and decided to find a personal trainer. I have been seeing Jill at Apex for just over a year now, and I can not say enough good about this place!! I feel comfortable there, which is the most important thing. Everyone is friendly, and there is no feeling of dread when I am headed to work out. My back used to 'go out' every 4-6 weeks the couple of years before I joined Apex. I had tried other things but eventually realized I needed to make physical changes to my body. Jill has been incredible to work with. She is patient but pushes me, and she understands what my body needs. Sometimes we are focusing more on my immediate issues in my hip or back, and then other times working towards strength training. I am even considering entering a weightlifting competition, which is something I never would have imagined saying!!! I lifted 20 kilos the other day, when just a year ago I would worry about carrying a jug of milk from the car to the house. I cannot recommend Apex enough!!!!
I started training at Apex since May last year. My initial motivation was to fix my posture through strengthening certain muscles as I sit all day long at work. I read good things about deadlift and decided to give it a try.
Fast forward eight months, it definitely gets easier for me to use a better posture while seating (e.g. feeling easier not to hunch). Even though there are still work to do to fix all my upper back problems, I am very happy with the progress made at Apex.
Also as a regular badminton player, I noticed that I have become more aware of using my core while hitting shots, which are more powerful now, which I believe also comes from deadlift training - a benefit I wasn't expecting when I first started.
The staffs there are great as well. Highly recommended to anyone who is considering going to gym more seriously.
I have been training at Apex for about 2 months now in the weekly semi-training.
My primary reason for attending is to learn the form for and progress with compound lifts.
The three initial one-on-one sessions with Victor were extremely valuable. I learned tweaks to my form that have already helped dramatically. And the weekly sessions in semi-private (5 people) continue to give great results.

I have been looking for a gym that offers a semi-private class and chanced upon this company. It's a small class of 4-5 which is what I wanted. I like that you get an assessment first and then tailor a program to suit your needs and your goals based on that assessment. They also have a Physiotherapy clinic upstairs which is great. I have been seeing Pat for my lower back pain and he liases with Victor so he can modify or add exercises specific to my lower back. After 12 weeks with Victor and the team, I can say my back feels much better and I feel stronger. Jill was wonderful with my assessment. Overall, a great team, very knowledgeable and friendly. Fantastic gym! The semi-private classes is a perfect model and fit for me. Victor and the other trainers are highly experienced and will build a plan customized to your goals, while I can continue to improve with them close at hand. I don't love large classes or 1:1 sessions, so this is such a more effective option - both physically and cost. Just great people as well!
Apex has treated me very well, and has given me exactly the results I was looking for. I went from never having done any of the Olympic lifts, to being able to clean & jerk my bodyweight in the span of 4 months. I am very satisfied with Victor's attention to detail on my form during my semi-private sessions with him.
